Sabrina Hope King is President of ATAPE Group, LLC, a firm that facilitates collaborative needs assessments and strategic planning engagements that lead to empowering professional learning programs and organizational outcomes.
Previously, Dr. King was the Chief Academic Officer for the Division of Teaching and Learning of New York City Public Schools, where she led the Campaign for Middle School Success and oversaw curriculum and professional development for NYC. She has worked in K12 and higher education institutions as a teacher, school and district leader, strategist and tenured professor. Dr. King also served as senior program officer for the Wallace Foundation. Early in her career, a transformative experience teaching youth at the Spofford Juvenile Detention Center informed the tagline for Dr. King’s practice: creating meaningful instruction so that all students can learn.
Dr. King serves on the board of the South Bronx Early College Academy (SBECA), is the past chair of The Rensselaerville Institute’s Board Of Trustees and serves as the chair of the education committee of the NAACP Mid-Manhattan Branch. She is a graduate of Manhattan Country School, Trinity School, the University of Pennsylvania and Teachers College, Columbia University.
A life long New Yorker, she is the proud mom of Ayanna-Grace, an environmental justice activist and urban farmer. Most recently, Sabrina has reengaged with her love for dancing as a Chicago Style Stepper.
